Native Garden Design
Transform and Restore
Service Description
I specialize in Native Garden/Landscape design, specifically within the Loess Plains (74b) and Bluff Hills (74a) Ecoregions of Mississippi and Tennessee. I've spent a good deal of time in natural areas studying native plant species, their communities and corresponding Ecological Sites. My goal is to design high-quality, Native Habitat Gardens that transform the space and restore Native Habitat. Each native garden is designed with unique enhancements to add functionality and aesthetic value. Plant compositions will add layers of beauty and interest for every season. Native plants are adapted to local conditions, so once they are established, they don’t require much water or care. As the plants mature into their 2nd and 3rd growing seasons, they’ll start filling out the space and producing more blooms. During this time, the quality of the native habitat increases because the garden produces more food sources and cover for wildlife. That is only half the fun of creating a native garden.
